My laptop has an nvida video card and my new desktop will have a basic ATI video card (I do not remember the model numbers).įirst off let me say that I am using a Monaco Optix-XR with Windows 7-64bit OS and an nVidea 430 vireo card to sucessfully calibrate my LCD monitor.Īs you point out this colorimeter is no longer supported so installing it under W7-64 was a real effort. I am also getting a new desktop that was going to be my new editing computer and I hope it works better on that one than on the laptop. How do you go about doing that? That would be useful to know in case I ever manage to get this to work.

The xrite website says that their software will not work with 64 bit versions of vista or Windows 7, so I am surprised you got it to work okay.Īlso, You mentioned that you had to manually install the.

Did you do anything special other than what the website recommends? My colorimiter is the DPT94 version. I have tried everything and I either get a blue screen or the software just doesn't recognize the colorimiter (even though it shows up as installed under the device manager). They also have a set of alternate methods to use which they will not support (due to blue screens), but some people have gotten too work. Anyways, when I run the software it says that the device is not connected. The one time I did not say yes it just crashes again.

Then when I log back in, the computer asks if it should try and fix the problem that caused the crash and if I say yes it avoids the blue screen. So then found the directions on the xrite website to update the driver for the colorimeter (for the vista 64 bit versions), and when I tried that I got the blue screen of death. However, when I tried to install the drivers, it didn't work. I tried installing the Monaco Optix software and it seemed to install okay. I didn't realize that there were these driver problems with older hardware and the 64 bit version of windows. I just got a new windows 7 (64 bit) laptop.
